TOM BIANCHI earned a law degree at Northwestern University and practiced corporate litigation in Chicago and Washington, D.C., before moving to New York and becoming Senior Council at Columbia Pictures. In 1979 he quit his job, tore up his law degree, and pasted it in a painting entitled ESQ: Notes From a Lawyer Who Left. His debut one-man show was in New York in 1980. Since that show, Bianchi has produced photographs, paintings, and sculptures that have been exhibited and collected throughout the world. Numerous books of his work have been published, including Out of the Studio, Extraordinary Friends, and Men I've Loved: Prose, Poems, and Pictures. |
